Gran Barranca Del Cobre, also known as Copper Canyon, is a group of six distinct canyons in the Sierra Madre Occidental. It is larger and deeper than the Grand Canyon in the United States. This stunning landscape is carved by six rivers that merge into the Río Fuerte and flow into the Gulf of California. The area is home to diverse ecosystems ranging from alpine forest to arid desert, supporting a rich variety of flora and fauna. Historically, it has been inhabited by the Rarámuri or Tarahumara people, known for their endurance running. Visitors are attracted to its breathtaking geography, impressive hikes, cultural experiences, and the famous Chihuahua al Pacifico train ride, which offers a dramatic journey through the scenic landscape.
